A Poly-Centric Leadership

NCC’s Leadership team work together to oversee the spiritual growth of the church family. Ephesians 4:7-16 outlines how Jesus establishes 5 gifts or functions, these being; Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Shepherds, Teachers to help equip the church to be mature and unified, with everyone finding a place and purpose in the body of Christ.  - We beleive there needs to a full reflection of APEST in the Leadership Team

Matt and Sally Timms

Matt and Sally have a rich history in NCC, they were met Jesus, were baptised and called into ministry through this church. Following the call of God, in 2012 they relocated to Perranporth to plant what would become New Wave Church.

They both view the Kingdom through an apostolic lens. This means they have a passion to see the gospel shared and the Kingdom revealed in different places and in new and pioneering ways. They love bringing enthusiastic vision and direction to ministries and new mission ideas. Their heart is to see the reality of God’s Kingdom become a reality on the earth.  Matt is a big picture, blue-sky thinker - Sally is full of conceptual ideas but is also very practical and detail orientated in her approach.

Matt and Sally love life by the ocean and being outdoors, Matt is a mad keen surfer and longs to see Jesus break into surf culture. They currently live in Perranporth and have 2 amazing kids, Eva (11) and Judah (7). They are a FAMILY on MISSION.

Matt Rundle

Matt is a kneeboarder (we forgive him for that) and has lived in Newquay for a number of years. He has recently got married to Helen and between them they have 5 wonderful kids, Grace (15), Ether (13), Ellie (10), Perran (9), Tegan (8).

Matt views life in the Kingdom through the Prophetic Lens. He has a passion for prayer and intercession and to see the prophetic voice of the church activated and released in both our gathered times and in our places of influence. He humbly operates with authority and practical clarity in the prophetic, bringing specific words that propel people into their God-given identity. He has a heart for pioneering new work that brings hope to the marginalised.

Matt has served in various leadership roles and has been that instrumental in developing the ‘Firestation’ Prayer room at the Tubestation (Fresh Expression church in Polzeath.

James and Steph Bemrose

James and Steph Bemrose have recently moved to Goonhavern with their 3 kids, Zeek (10), Immy (9), Maisy (6). They joined the leadership team at New Wave, which was a direct answer to our prayer for a ‘Strategically minded Evangelist’. James and Steph originate from the Southampton area where they were involved in leading an effective Missional Community that was connecting with the 18-30-student generation

James views life through the Evangelist lens, which means he loves creating ways for the story of God to be told beyond the walls of the church. He is especially excited by our Sovereign Bus Project and the scope that this has in mobilising the church to share Jesus throughout Cornwall.

James and Steph love creating a space for building authentic community and have a heart for ‘life-on-life disciple-making in community. They will help to give direction to the Perranporth Missional Community Team.

Steph is currently working in an Admin and Communications role across NCC and New Wave - She is responsible for sending out the updates and social media

Robert & Hazel Brittain

Robert and Hazel have been married for over forty years and moved down to Newquay over 14 years ago from the East Midlands. Now a credentialed minister with Elim, Robert’s great passion is the preaching and teaching of God’s word and the development and release of Christians into their God given gifts and ministry. With Hazel he leads Connect Group development at NCC, regularly preaches at both campuses and is responsible for the finances of the church. Hazel is part of the Women’s ministry and works with Robert on the finances.

Together they have three grown up children, two of whom are leading worship here, and one living in Australia. They are doting grandparents of 6 grandchildren and are enjoying (and sometimes enduring) the Christian adventure. Being in the centre of God’s will is the most important place in life and that is where we are.
